What a Bluebird detail involves

A full Bluebird detail runs in 10 stages, from the first foam bath through decontamination, paint correction, and the sealed finish.

  1. 01 Foam

It starts before anything touches the paint

A thick layer of pH-neutral foam sits on the car and lifts loose grit off the surface, so it rinses away instead of being dragged across your clear coat.

    • pH-neutral, coating safe
    • Five minute dwell

  2. 02 Rinse

The dirt leaves without being touched

The foam comes off in sheets and takes the loosened dirt with it, so the contact wash deals with a fraction of what was there.

    • Two-bucket contact wash
    • Grit guards in both

  3. 03 Wheels

Wheels carry the worst of it

Brake dust is hot metal fused onto the wheel finish. It does not rinse off. Each wheel is cleaned on its own with dedicated tools.

    • Barrels cleaned, not just faces
    • Iron remover on bonded dust
A gloved hand scrubbing a soapy wheel with a long wheel brush
  4. 04 Decon

A clay bar finds what washing cannot

Freshly washed paint can still feel gritty. That is bonded contamination sitting proud of the clear coat, and a clay bar shears it off until the panel feels like glass.

    • Full lubrication, no marring

  5. 05 Correct

Swirls come out of the clear coat, not off it

Swirl marks are grooves cut into the clear coat. A machine polisher levels the surface until they are gone, then refines the finish back to clarity.

    • Single-stage, most light defects
    • Worked in overlapping passes

  6. 06 Seal

    The finish gets locked in

Applied by hand in sections and left to cure, a coating bonds chemically to the clear coat rather than sitting on it like wax. Years, not weeks.

    • Two to three years of protection
    • UV and road-film resistant

  7. 07 Interior

Doors open, and the inside gets the same standard

Mats come out, seats move on their rails, and every surface gets reached rather than wiped around. The interior takes as long as the exterior.

  8. 08 Surfaces

    Dash, console, jambs, glass

Every hard surface dressed to an even satin, never a greasy shine. Jambs get done properly, because dirty jambs announce themselves every time a door opens.

    • Satin dressing, never greasy
    • Jambs and sills done

  9. 09 Tires

Tires dressed last, once nothing can land on them

Sidewalls cleaned before anything is applied, then dressed to a satin finish rather than a wet-look sling that flicks up the panels on the drive home.

    • Cleaned before dressing
    • Satin, not sling

  10. 10 Done

Doors close on a different car

Tires dressed, glass clear, paint sealed and beading. It all happens in your driveway, and you do not need to be home for any of it.

    • Two to five hours, most vehicles
    • Water and power come with us

The specialism

Ceramic coating and paint correction, done at your address

Coating and correction are normally shop work, because they need controlled light, power, and hours of uninterrupted time. Bluebird brings all three to you, which is the whole reason the business exists.

Ceramic coating, from $299

A ceramic coating cures into a hard, chemically bonded layer over the clear coat and holds two to three years of protection wax cannot approach. It is the answer to what Colorado does to paint: high-altitude sun, mag-chloride winters, and dust that never stops.

Paint correction, from $399

Swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and haze live inside the clear coat, so no wash removes them. A single-stage machine correction cuts them back out of it and leaves a finish a wash cannot produce.

The two go together in that order. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it for years, so correcting after the fact means stripping the coating off first.

How it works

Studio work, done in your driveway

Booking takes three steps: you pick a time, we arrive with our own water and power, and the car is finished in your driveway in two to five hours depending on the package.

    You book a time

Pick a slot online or call. Tell us the vehicle, roughly where you are, and what is bothering you about it.

Most details run two to five hours depending on the package and the condition. You can be at work the whole time.

Common questions

Before you book

Bluebird Detailing is mobile: we bring our own water and power to your driveway anywhere within 25 miles of Broomfield, you do not need to be home, and prices start at $99 for an exterior detail and $299 for a ceramic coating.

Do I need to provide water or power?

No, the truck carries its own water tank and power, which is the whole reason we can work in a driveway, on the street, or in an office parking lot with nothing from you but access to the vehicle.

Do I need to be home during the detail?

No, and most customers are not home for it. Leave the car unlocked or hand over a key in the morning, and it is finished when you get back. For interior work we do need the car open; for exterior-only we just need to reach it.

How long does a detail take?

An exterior detail runs one to two hours, an interior one to three, and a full detail two to five depending on size and condition. Paint correction is a full day. You get a realistic window when you book, not an optimistic one.

What areas do you cover?

A 25-mile radius from Broomfield: Westminster, Arvada, Thornton, Northglenn, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Boulder, Longmont, Golden, Denver, and the rest of the metro. If you are unsure, ask, the answer is usually yes.

What do your prices start at, and why “from”?

Exterior from $99, interior from $169, full details from $249, coatings from $299, correction from $399, maintenance from $130 a visit. “From” is the coupe-or-sedan price; bigger vehicles carry more surface and more time, so they cost more. You get the exact number before we start.
